LInking my MPC 3000 with Ableton

I have used an MPC 3000 to make beats for a while and know my way around it pretty well. Im super interested in combining the speed and workflow of my MPC with ableton. I cant believe Ableton did not provide an midi map template for the 3000. It is a classic machine that many of my peers still use. What I would like to do is trigger samples in Ableton with my MPC. How do I go about doing this? Everytime I put a sample into Sampler on Ableton and get it to trigger on my mpc, it still gives me a key change of the sample depending on what pad I hit on my MPC. How do I assign just one sample per pad on my mpc in ableton as if it were a sound on my mpc? Is anyone familure enough with one to tell me? How do I set up the samples to cut eachother off when pressed from my MPC? Does anyone out there know anyone who uses a 3000 as a controller for ableton? ABLETON! Think you could provide me with a midi template for my machine? How do I set it up manually????? I spent all day Sat trying to figure it out. Chopping a loop in ableton, getting it to play when I pressed pads on my MPC was as far as I got. I also got my shit synced as well. Went thru the set up and even set the delay so both the metronome on my mpc and on ableton lined up....pretty damn close at least. Someone please help. Even if you dont think its a large contribution to my questions, tell me what you know. It will help me figure out the rest. Are these parameters I need to change in Ableton or on my MPC?
Thanks everyone
SP
PS, trying to use my MPC as master and Ableton as slave while making a beat... I figured that way I can record the midi into ableton from my mpc to finish everything that way. I just want to retain the swing and groove I get from the MPC.

Just get Maschine and be amazed. No syncing or tracking out headaches.
By the way, there is no magical swing or groove that's exclusive to MPCs.

Yeah that's helpful...
spbeatpoet,
try the drumrack, it can do exactly you want. One tip though: change your 3k's pad to MIDI note assignment so that it's chromatic. Start with midi note 36 on pad A1, 37 on A2 and work your way up to 98 on pad D15 (and the leftover 35 you can put on pad D16). Save that template as a program or in your default settings (its been a while since I had a 3k so the details are hazy).

Thank you for pushing me in the right direction. That seemed to work better when I tried it the other day but I seem to remember the samples all being in mono. Arent they just mono samples on there.... Is there a way to have stereo samples in drumtrack?

Not sure why or how that would happen... Drumracks can accept stereo samples.

Set the mpc 3000 from drum mode to midi mode in the main track menu. Set the midi channel located at the bottom right of the main track menu.
For Ableton it depends on what your trying to trigger or do. For clips use the midi learn function in Ableton and click the pad on your mpc and than click the clip your triggering or vice versa. Its been a while so if I missed something....

Au contraire mon frere, a sequencer where you can adjust individual notes or tracks with swing, notation timing, shift backwards and forwards, combined with SONG mode without stopping = MAGIC.
Add a cpu which is so slow it adds a human error feel. Ahhhh....

Thank you. My MPC does have "Magical" swing. Cant get my drums on ableton to sound like I can off of my trusty 3000

Oh, and yes they are in stereo, just in mono in the edit window....
