why is input latency so long.i connected mic to live, and when i sing there is atleast one seckond between i hear the reflection..my soundcard is audigy 2/24 bit with asio support.
But also i can record only when audio settings its set on mme/directx,and when i make latency to 5 ms,then somekinda sound destroing is going on..but when i try to record when audio is set on asio i cant hear the sound at all
just tell me how to get sound direct?

I think its just the soundcard. It's probably not a very good soundcard but I haven't used that particular model so can't really help.
My advice would be to buy a better card...

it is physically impossible to have 0 latency. What you need to do is to turn off the "0" latency version, and just listen to the delayed version.

yes but then it cuts of live performing and recording with background

set your latency to something between 7 and 20 depending on how far you can push your system before it starts to cracle
hardware synths/samplers usually have a latency below 10 , but you can still play live guitar through ableton at 14 millisec without too much delay between your plectrum plucking the snares and the guitarsound coming out of the boxes
if you are going to record the guitartrack , afterwards , i suggest you cut of 10 milisec from the beginning of the track to compensate for the delay while playing

i also have major latency problems with the firewire4/10.
so bad it makes it unusable.

i pushed my latency to 3 ms with that 'asio for all' driver !
