I have not purchased live but it seems like a really cool app. I currently use the MPC 2000xl for sequencing and reason as a sound module for samples and synths. Can live be used in this manner? I would like to take advantage of lives ability to stretch and pitch samples but only as a sound module. Let me know your thoughts.

hi,
i use a mpc2000xl to run everything...i dont use computers to make music...its soooo yesterday LOL!!!
I use Live in both ways, to trigger the mpc and all my gear, with all the twisted samples you cant get done on the mpc, playing nicely on the laptop.....or.....i use the mpc to trigger the computer, but IMO, triiger the mpc from the computer, more stable.
good luck
by the way, i use a m-audio firewire interface and the latency is -36 to perfectly time the mpc....

ive been wondering how to incorporate these 2 as well, I thought of actually getting rid of the 2000XL but everytime I go on it I come up with drum patterns that I dont come up with using anything else... its bust at the moment anyway, blown an internal fuse in it

just not got round to getting it fixed yet...

I just plane sold my mpc 2000 after switching to live as a sequencer
I was happy how much the thing held it's value after 6 years
I don't miss it one bit(i loved the thing)...replaced it with a powerbook and firewire 8 out interface...so I can sync it to my desktop via midi
ooh yeah!!
