Best foot controller for use with Live, Amplitube & VB-99?

Anyone know if all the control functions on the FC-300 are useful or can be configured properly to control Live and Amplitube? I'm mainly interested in an expression pedal which Stomp IO doesn't have. The reason I'm leaning towards the FC-300 is that I already have a VB-99, so it would double as a controller for that. So I'd like it to be versatile as possible.
Or am I better off with something like the Guitar Rig Kontrol? The only thing with that is I don't have Guitar RIg, so I don't know how useful the hardware might be with other programs. I also prefer Amplitube over Guitar Rig because it has better sounding bass amps & effects sound better on bass than Guitar Rig, IMO. Guitar Rig Kontrol is smaller which makes it more desirable than the FC-300, but it might be useless with the VB-99.
A third option I found is the Keith Mcmillen Softstep which looks like it might be the smallest of all (can't find dimensions?) & is able to take an expression pedal, but might not work with the VV-99. Ugh, a downside to every choice. Anything else?
Prefer it to be:
- smallest in size
- expression pedal capable
- works mainly with Live but hopefully also with Amplitube & VB-99
- built in USB audio interface would also be nice but not necessary
