I mapped a few things to midi devices but when I save,close live, and reopen, all the mapping gets messed up (all the mapping is still there but it seems my device is sending different data now)...am I doing something wrong?

Maybe you need to confirm the "absolute" mode. The little list at the bottom left of the screen when youre in map mode.
Not sure though, but it works when my mapping behave weird from time to time.
