does any one have any tips... or am I the only one having problems in live with video editing... if it would just work the sky is the limit. it seems to be such a small problem. video clips going blank. why?

Hi, I think it's mentioned in the manual that if you do certain editing operations to a video clip, it is converted to an audio clip.

no more picture. I don't recall offhand what the operations are.

If you're running Windows, start your computer from scratch and when it has finished booting, stop all non-essential Windows programs and background tasks (using Task Manager). I have had the same problem and I just discovered that other video-related applications can interfere with Live's ability to show video correctly. In my case, the culprit application was called StrokeIt - a mouse gestures program. As soon as I stopped that application my video window appeared correctly again!
Hope that help!

I had a go with some video for a dub project:
Instead of just ripping ancient audio from the internet I took the whole 'movie' using the keepvid site and treated the video+audio file as I would audio in Live: chopped, arranged etc...
I then ported the video from live, dropped it and a decent wav of the track itself into a third party video editor and did some visual mangling.
Great fun!

Got some contemporary outdoor free party raves on vid that I'm gonna mix with some old beanfield (stonehenge) news/documentary footage for the next project...
