Hello, Ableton community.

I am wondering if it is possible to use Ableton to crossfade, or otherwise mix, two separate songs in different project files. This is for the purpose of creating seamless transitions during a live performance. If I were performing live, I wouldn't want to stop after every song, find the file, load it up, and press play -- there's got to be a way around this.

I'm aware of the function for crossfading between audio tracks, but that's not what I'm looking for. I have a buddy who does it with FL Studio (I don't know the specifics - can't stand the program myself), so I figure Ableton must have some similar feature.

If not, do you have any tips for creating seamless transitions some other way?

usually people put all their songs into one huge live set

but also it is possible to run multiple instances of live, and if you have two sets of stereo outs on your computer, then you could crossfade on a hardware mixer

Did you resolve this problem? I'm trying to run my set in one big Ableton project file but my computer doesn't like it and it gets a bit overwhelmed.
