Turning off "select all" on the top timeline...

There is a part of the timeline at the top if you click on it, it will "select all" everything in your session.... Completely useless and frustrating... If I want to select all I will hit command a...
I often click the bar by accident when wanting to re-size the arrange page, and instead it selects everything.... it's not a big deal at the start of projects, but when I have huge projects at the end it pauses for a minute to select all everything, then if i click again or drag somthing it moves everything, such a pain, give us an option to turn this off I beg of you...
If you can somehow stop this already please tell me and I'll forever be in your debt...
