I'm very new to Ableton and this session view concept is kicking my a$$. i have a problem that endless online searching has failed to solve for me. I began remixing a song, saved my samples and shut down. Upon reopening the project i've found that all previous samples are working faultlessly but any new clips i add in session view are only playing for 1 bar and not even looping it. Even opening a new set and dropping a full unedited song into an audio track delivers the same result.
I'm certain that i must have altered some setting unintentionally as it has only started doing it this week. It's probably a simple solution that in my frustration i am overlooking. Any advise would be greatly appreciated as i'm at a standstill now.
On a less important but equally annoying note, I've found that no matter what length i set in the quantization menu (i want to set it to 1 bar but have tried it on every setting) my clips seem to drop in as soon as i hit the play button and not at the beginning of the next bar. Anyone able to explain either of these to me?
I'm really desperate and would love some info or a solution please.

seems i can't edit or delete my post but it's cool. I sorted it out and as i expected it was a simple fix. I'd changed the launch mode in the clip view to gate. once i switched it back to trigger all my problems were gone. as stated, in my frustration i couldn't see the forest for the trees. sorry if i wasted your time reading this but my public humiliation should compensate. /facepalm
