dont know if it just me being thick but i cant seem to make the two work

my set up is iMac 21.5" 3.06GH, Ableton Live 8 Intro, Numark Mixtrack and Native Instruments Audio dj 2 soundcard.

i purchased the mixer and ableton from decks in london and was told it all works together but for some reason with everything loaded up it just doesn't, ive tryed to sync the two through ableton but no joy nothing on the mixer works from cue to fader to bass etc

any help will be appreciated.

Hi, and welcome to Live! Could you clarify for us where it is that you're having issues? Is it in setting up the Audio DJ 2 as an interface, in setting up the Mixtrack as a MIDI controller, or both? What settings do you have for the hardware pieces, under Preferences->Audio and Preferences->MIDI in Live?

having trouble using the mixtrack as a midi controller, i understand that its not in the control surface for live preferences so ill have to map it manualy but when i do and quit live next time i start up again i have to do it all again,

the setting currently are : Control Surface - None, Input : Numark Mix Track, Output - Numark Mix Track, Takeover Mode - None and MIDI Ports... Input : Numark etc Track - On, Sync - On and Remote - On

and Audio settings are ; Driver Type - CourAudio, Input Device Built-in Input, Audio Output - Audio 2 DJ (0 In, 4 Out)


ive loaded the driver for the audio 2DJ and that seems to be working fine (i.e i have sound) its just trying to set up the mixtrack controller getting tired of mapping it every time im on

i know this is gonna be a propa school boy error i applogise for my stupidness but appreciate your help.

my crossfader is inverted, I mean, if I go to the right in the midi controller (mixtrack pro), in ableton the fader goes to the left. Do anyone knows what's the problem and how can I fix it?

Same thing happened to me when I tried to map the crossfader. I guess its not that big a deal, just takes some getting used to, kind of annoing.

Has anyone been able to fix this? Or have any tips on mapping the Mixtrack Pro?

I can not get my Numark mixtrack pro to be recognized by Ableton at all.

You can try to "Right"-Mouse-Click on the crossfader-entry in the Midi-Mappings-window and select "Invert Range", if it's available.
This exchanges the MIN and MAX values.

If that's not working, maybe it's a similar issue as one user had with another controller and its crossfader: http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=135938
There the crossfader sends 2 midi values (one for left->right and one for right->left).
Only one of the MIDI values is working in the right direction.
