I'm upgarding my PC (Can't afford a Mac) to accommodate Ableton 8 which I have just purchased, having a complete rejig as old PC can't cope too well now I'm recording vocals and running lots of VST's etc. My new PC will consist of 8GB ram / decent graphics, mother brd etc. but I'm stuck on what audio card to buy - I'm not recording any other instruments as I mainly use vst's sytnths etc.

I'm on a budget so under £200.00 would be great....Any suggestions or recommendations??

Thanks for you help :-)
Paul

I've heard and read good things about both the Native Instruments Audio Kontrol 1 and the Focusrite Saffire 6 USB.

I use a native Instruments Rig Kontrol for my audio interface and I believe the audio interface part is equivalent to that in the Audio Kontrol 1, and if that's true, I can vouch for that. But t'other one is supposed to be good bang for the buck too.

I'm sure other people will chirp up with others.

If anyone has suggestions for non-USB also - PCI audio card with break out cables - that also seems a good option...I'm all ears.
Cheers

Ive got the AK1 its a nice little soundcard no problems whatso ever, only minor minor hicup is that there is a "big knob" on the soundcard which would be nice to use for volume but it cant be its jus midi assignable.

When i bought my AK1 you got a free copy of Massive too. Win Win!
