Im sorry but this is ridiculous. I literally just recieved live in the mail today, spending over 300 dollars, and you're telling me if i want to use another instrument that live has made , u want me to cough up another $130???? How about maybe taking care of some of your customers and maybe throwing in a free upgrade. Im not debating whether or not ableton is a great program but this upgradable instrument is f***ing ridiculous.

? What is your problem?

You paid for, and received a wonderful sound app. You didn't purchase a software synth. Therefore (and here's the leap of logic) you didn't receive a software synth.

What the hell are you complaining about?

Operator isn't Live, it's a different product.

ok...this forum is full of inmature kids who think ableton live is the best thing in the world....i agree ableton live is unique, but when something is not right like this stupid new synth for 130 bucks ...speak up!!! . i own logic pro 7 and almost every plug in out there and cant understand that ableton worked in something so worthless like this new synth that is not even free.....i'd rather pay for an upgrade that makes live 4 work with double processor, support for mackie control, freeze function, multiple screen views!!!
ableton.....you think people will pay 130 for a synth that works within live 4 only??? I'd rather get ALBINO with 1500 presets for just 30 bucks more!!!and get it to use with any sequencer i want!! ...btw...i do have albino.....heheheh.....anyone with me??? .

$20 more than Operator for a Behringer B-Control Rotary.
24 assignable knobs, 20 assignable buttons.

the list goes on and on...

but thats not the point, buy operator if you like it, don't if you don't.
its that easy.

and don't expect it for free in either case.

less than $149, sure, i think it should be as well. but as was pointed out you bought Live, not Operator.

I don't know. Call this a hunch but I have a good feeling that yeah, they do think people will "pay 130 for a synth that works within live 4 only??"

Maybe it's just me but this new direction doesn't seem to make sense. Live 4 was a groundbreaking leap forward by opening the software up to the vast universe of 3rd party Vsti's. And most of the ones I had worked flawlessly. And now they take a step backwards by offering a proprietary synth? Not exactly innovative. Maybe we're just too spoiled bcause we got 2 free proprietary instruments along with Live 4 already. I think it was a marketing folly. They should've held off on Simpler and Impulse and released it now along with Operator. Kept us happily hopping along like lemmings on the upgrade path
