Simply I was 16 and realized that I loved to play and sing in public with the band.
Never stopped since then. Only stopped live shows, not music making.
Compulsory.

Ha!

A friend of mine says that even when you spend some time away from it, art always comes back to you. Another friend actually used to say that kids who don't have a lot of love in the house growing up, turn to art to fill that space. I like to think of it as a life long friend that's there when you need it.

I've always made music. Walking home from school having melodies in my head, playing air guitar with a tennis racket, getting a cheap Casio keyboard, getting my first guitar, playing in bands. Going from a 4 track to having a home recording setup like we all have now. When I was younger I wanted to "express myself". Now I just like to have beauty in my life, the sense of wonder that music gives you. I also like the problem solving aspect of it.

Just for priceless moments like when I first moved into this place:

My neighbour grumpily asked me if I was a bugler (trumptets/horns or similar), guitarist or drummer (I guess he must have had some noise problems with some of them in his life)?
Well should have seen his face when I answered 'All three and keyboards too' (As I have a sax, drum kit, and a few guitars and of course keys).

The look on his face was just utterly priceless - think he probably thought I was taking the piss - but little did he know ;)
Nothing to see here - move along!

Awesome!
jazz is a woman's tongue in your mouth
cool, licking you slowly, revolving around
inside your cheeks.
letting you know who's come to visit.
