More midi trigger questions (with reason)

I know there are probably a hundred topics on this but I am tired of searching for answers that aren't exactly what I am looking for. I have a couple of individual trigger pads that I want to trigger my Reason sounds through Ableton. I have an alesis io to connect everything.
So I have been messing with it a lot and I can set up one trigger pad to trigger any drum sounds from reason just fine(from "Kong" for example) but how do I get the second trigger to trigger a loop (from malstrom for example)? loops don't seem to trigger the same way as the drum sounds. I have to map it so it pretty much just "plays." is that right? Do I drag the midi file from reason to the same midi track as the drum sounds or do I have to make a new midi for every trigger pad? And how am I supposed to midi map the loop? I feel like if it is just simply triggering the play button, then everything will play and not just the loop I want. I pretty much just want to know how to set up multiple triggers to play different sounds from reason.....
Another thing I want to clarify... I have been rewiring reason and ableton, but do I really need to do that if I export the reason midi file?
