Laptop Help!!

I am having a major problem with the audio on my laptop. The plan is to use the laptop for live shows, using only 2 mics into my zoom r16. My laptop is a nv52, amd athlon 64x2 ql-65,4 gb...i think it should be able to handle audio...especially just 2 mics going in. The problems vary from audio shutting off to a constant buzz that leads me to shut down. This is all happening with buffer at 1024...which makes vocals impossible! Another problem i noticed is that when multi-cpu support is ON, cpu use hits 100 or more, when OFF its stable for a bit but then freezes up. The audio input is set to asio with my device driver set to my r16. What can I do?

Okay so turning off multi cpu support seems to work much better. I am able to have the buffer set to 256 and run rather smooth. The only problem is that with this buffer, vocals are still a bit tough. Has anyone any idea why when multi cpu support is on, my audio becomes a mess and cpu usage hits the fan? When off, i am at about 30% without my mic inputs.

dude. i have an r16 and their drivers are SHIT.
my r16 cracks up 50% of the time i do something in live, to the point that i've stopped using it.
done all the troubleshooting via thier support (infact, i had to get support from the store i bought it at (seller used to work for zoom aswell), since they refused to reply to my emails whatsoever), and it just doesn't work as an interface.

as a recorder, sure, but an audio interface?
no dice.
