It used to be a great tool to find new local artists, and network with artists...
Now you can't search by physical location, and they got rid of region/state based charts so it's fairly useless.
It's piece of shit site tailored to promoting those with deep pockets now.

I think the recent "redesign" was the final act of suicide for myspace as a usable music discovery platform.

nevermind the design, just the fact that they re-encode your music to a crappy format full of aliasing is enough to avoid them. With bandcamp you can simply upload your wav and they take care of all other formats.

How is soundcloud in comparison to bandcamp?
I just put a new project on soundcloud, since nobody even listens to the tracks on my space (almost like our very own link your music forum)

i gave up on myspace for years and recently logged back on to my artist page. in between that time I had had several tracks mastered. but for some idiotic reason, myspace will not let you replace the audio in your tracks. i haven't logged back on since.
