I can import NI Kontakt Kits into Sampler, but not NI Battery Kits.
Am i right?

You are right.

If you have both however I believe that Kontakt could load Battery kits > resave as nki then import that into sampler.

in Lives Browser Locate the NKI File and double Click it, it will import
it to Sampler>Imported

Works fine

errr i'm loading in the nki files but when i play the sampler everything sounds really stretched and pitched down. Like I'll be playing C6 and its at best C1

You should be able to select all the samples in sampler and set them to root pitch of C3. That way they should play back normally.

OK, i have loaded all Battery kits into Kontakt.
I used the "Files-Save as..." Dialogue saving them as NKI.
Then i imported them into Live, they all show in Sampler -> imported

and they work fine.

now i have to dig deeper with two things:
1. where are the samples, has Ableton copied them somwhere or is just referring to their origin location.
2. how can i use this kits in a drum rack ( which i didnt explored by now

ok, live is referring to the samples location.

With nki and exs imports live references the location where the original samples are. All other imports copy samples into the live library if I remember correctly.

About the drum racks - there is no easy way. You'd have to create them pretty much one sample at a time for the drum rack pads. Not worth the hassle imo.

OK, that is not worth it.
I wanted to go all Ableton - and play the Battery Kits with my Launchpad.

Not sure I want to buy Kontact just to convert 2 battery kits my wife uses.

I've got the Battery Samples all saved in Simplers and different multi sample instruments grouped in instrument racks.

It was a huge pain, your right...... but, Drum Racks works so much better for me. I'm really glad I took the time to do it.

I didnt recreate Battery's Kits like say the Presets, just the Sound Library. I'm more into building custom kits per song that I can call mine, right any way, I combined that library with the MIDI Pattern and Kit Pattern of my Boss DR-770 and I got an instant all custom Drum Machine. You can fully customize your own MIDI sequences starting with the DR-770 Preset Patterns with Abletons Groove's and Swing, Cut Copy and Paste MIDI fills and such...

Maybe we could make a trade for all my hard work?
