Hello,
Im tryng to control Guitar Rig 4, (change presets) inserted as plug in in Ableton Live, trough my FCB1010.

But I cannot find the way to the ¨learn¨function in GR4 recognize any of my midi controllers.

I have visit the NI GR4 users forum and I have received this answer to my problem:

insert a MIDI channel in your Ableton Live set, with its input set to the MIDI controller in question, and its output set to the audio channel that is running the GR VST. Make sure this new MIDI channel is set to IN (as opposed to OUT or AUTO.) Then go back to the GR VST and try the learn process again.

But, I dont know how to send the midi information, from the midi channel, to the audio channel hosting the GR4 plugin in ableton live.

Yes, I have my FCB very well mapped, and other midi controllers running ok.

As a work around you can set up Live Macro controls for the VST and then assign those macro controls to your FCB1010.

maybe your idea can fix my problem..!

There are a lot of people waiting for a fix of this issue, seems like the CC midi signals are not going through to GR4 plugin.

The first paragraph answer the second.

Set up a midi track, Midi from your midi port the FCB is plugged in to, Midi To 'Audio-1' 'Guitar Rig'. Assuming Audio-1 is where your guitar and GR4 are inserted.

Boom.

it works! just as simple as setting up the midi track to route it to the GR4 VST. Also tested GR3 VST, GR3 AU MFX and GR4 AU MFX. All working. I have the FCB1010 with original chip, I have reprogrammed it via sysex dumps, not for this particular case, and I am guessing FCB1010 would work with factory settings. In fact, it is not responding to some of my modified banks because I played with the Program Change bits in order to get the toggle function in the pedal working.

The midi track into GR audio enables receive for me but jumping presets nulls the assignments - any ideas?

iFCB doesn't work with my interface (RME)

Don't know whether this has been done before or not, I'm sure it has, but I have managed to set up The FCB1010 to change between two patches in GR4 just using Racks.The Jump preset thing via wasn't working for me neither was iFCB.

1. Put two GR's in a Rack with a favorite preset in each.

2. Enter Map Mode and make the Device on/off button of each to Macros 1 & 2.

3. In the Macro Mappings browser make the first GR min max value 1 and 63

4.In the Macro Mappings browser make the second GR min max value 64 and 126

5.Put that in another rack.(cmd/ctrl G)

6.Enter map mode for that rack and map Macros 1 & 2 of the inner rack to Macro 1 of the 'container' rack

7. In the Macro Mappings browser make the first device min max values of 0 to 63

8.In the Macro Mappings browser make the second device min max values of 64 to 127.

9. Enter Live's global midi mapping and map a pedal on the FCB to Macro 1 on the container rack.

Pressing the pedal will now switch between the two sounds while simultaneously turning the other off.

I realize this is only two sounds but I'm sure it must be possible to expand on this, I will have a look later, unless someone else can do it.

I recently purchased a FCB1010 to control Guitar Rig 4 VST from within Ableton 8.

I have no problems assigning CC's, expression pedals, and Midi Notes to map effect parameters and effect on/off functionality in GR4 VST in Live.

I AM having issues however with programming GR4 Presets into my FCB1010. I understand how to pull up the Rig Kontrol board, unlock the RK Switch, assign a preset, and then lock again... I do not understand what i need to do to program specific presets to my FCB1010

I really dont care about turning on and off individual presets at this point. All I really want to do with GR4 and my FCB1010 is to recall my own custom GR4 Presets

i have read thru a hundred forums and still confused. I have tried assigning Program Changes to select presets, but have been unsuccessful so far I would be grateful for any help!
