Just finished reading Ableton Live 4 Power!. Excellent book! Well written for beginners and advanced users both. Finished it in less than a week. Excellent job Chad Carrier and Dave Hill Jr. Some excellent advanced tips in there. I've got all my favorite pages highlighted. I just want to know where these supposed downloads to go along with the book are. They are supposed to be somewhere at www.courseptr.com but are nowhere to be found. I emailed the courseptr website but have yet to hear back after a week. Anyways great read for any user of Live so check it out.

I agree totally about the book. I'm getting my mind around a lot of things I only half-learned from the Ableton documentation. I do think maybe the authors should have included at least a starter collection of goodies on CD, the way so many writers do (as a fantastic example, the CD included with Kurt "Peff" Kurasaki's book on Reason 2.5).

later,
John

They should make the book availlable as a bundle with Live. The book is so well written its a no-brainer to own a copy.

Hey everybody, this is Chad Carrier, author of the Ableton Live 4 Power book. Thanks for all of your kind words--I'm happy to hear you have all been getting great info from the book.

As far as the web dowloads are concerned, they are almost complete. This book project was started as soon as the first beta of Live 4 was available, and we worked as fast as we could to get the book to you all by Christmas. Of course, we just had the Winter NAMM show, which took much of my time as I was preparing demos for the show. Now that the mad rush is over, I'm going back and adding Lesson Views to my templates before I upload them. Additionally, you'll find an addendum to the book featuring the badass Operator instrument.

So, hang in there everybody. The templates and addendum are coming. You'll probably see them posted within a week or two.

Thanks Chad, it's really a great book. Selfishly, I wish Chapter 14 could be 10 times as long. LOTS of great stuff in there. :)
