Here is an idea

It's to sort the issue when recording new midi parts to tracks that already contain automation.

The main problem is the automation gets wiped, as you all know. And very annoying it is.

if we could choose to keep the automation that would be great

Right clicking and choosing to do so would fix it.

simple.

+1 please, and also apply it to recording audio in a way where I can adjust the sends and volume levels without it being recorded. When tracking a vocalist this can be pretty annoying.
