Is there any way to select a specific drum rack pad or an instrument rack chain without using the mouse?

not neccesarily specific but can you place a pitch plugin in front of the drumrack and midi map it?

Well that would decide which rack pad is beeing played. But not which rack pad is beeing selected as active,to control it's device chain (automapped control - apc40)
what i actually have is a drumrack with an instrument rack on each pad. and i want to control the 8 macro's of each instrument rack when that specific pad is selected as active.
but without using the mouse to click on that specific pad.

Put all your drum racks in an instrument rack, then go to the SEL part of the instrument rack and drag the first instrument all the way across, right click, then 'distribute ranges evenly'. Open up the macro controls for the rack and map one of the macros to the selector. Now the macro will select whichever drum rack you want.

i think you didn't get my question.
chain selection, again, decides what is beeing played. i want it to be the active selected device to have automap controlling for that specific device...
