Samples Offline/ Corrupt/ Unlicensed...

Heya,

After a C drive failure where I had to restore it to its initial settings I re-installed ableton and typed in my authorization code again.
Upon opening my project which contains numerous different songs about half of them were missing with the clip saying "Sample Offline"
However it points correctly to the location of the files, and most of them I can even play in VLC so I know that they do exist, its just that ableton can't seem to read them anymore.

When I try and drag them in from Explorer it won't let me and says the file may be corrupt or unlicensed.

I didn't have this problem at all before my re-install.

Any ideas?
many thanks
matt

Have you got Quicktime installed?

A brief Google says that (not having QT installed) could be what's causing it.

lucky you!
i just did a "collect and save" on my laptop, where i had 1 week of tracks worth (vacations)
and copied the whole thing over to my desktop comp.
in one song, the same thing happened to me.
samples offline !!
they are in the projects folder, in "samples/imported" as supposed.
they play fine, in QT as well as everywhere else,
but ableton refused to correctly load them.
so i had to manually drag them, one by one into the corresponding slots, and they work !

took me half an hour - so if someone has any ideas what could cause that, would be a big help for
any (may to come) next times...

cheers
