Can any one help? MP3s cutting out when imported?

Here's the problem: I'm making playlists in itunes to make mixes with in Live. After I have completed the playlist I export it to a folder on my laptop so I can work on the mixes out in the "world".
When I start to import the MP3s into live from that folder some of the files cut out or are missing the info for 90% of the song. What I mean by that is there are blank spots on the songs timeline.
When I open those same files in say sound forge or in any other media player the MP3s are fine. No blank or missing parts. At first I suspected that copying my files from my usb hard drive to my laptop may have been the problem, but with any other player everything is there and the files play fine.
Anyone have any ideas on why this maybe happening or what the deal may be?
Thanks for the help/answers.
here is a screen shot of what I am speaking of. The track should be continuous sound not suddenly cutting to -inf dB.
