When I try to install the live packs the final box says they cant be authorized.
And when I try to look them up in the library, i.e. choral voice in instrument racks, the folder is there, but the presets aren't.

I tried to authorize using the "authorize at ableton.com" option in prefs, still nothing.

I bought Live and then upgraded to suite, it now says ableton live+9 add ons authorized, could that have something to do with it?

I bought the Boxed version of live, and online upgrade to suite.

you don't actually own EIC2, i don't think. i had this question before, and made the same mistake - the boxed version of Live includes an EIC2 disk, but not a license. It's intended for use by people who had live 6 + EIC1 and can upgrade.

Upgrading to suite DL doesn't give you a license either - the DL version doesn't include it. To get a license, you need to upgrade to Suite Boxed. This includes both EIC2 and Session Drums (and then you will have live + 11 addons).

Essential Instrument Collection 2: a wide range of sampled instruments (box only)"

This is taken directly from the product description of Live 8. So I don't think that is the case

try repairing the library from Ableton's preferences.

good to know... mine was an upgrade edition (live 7 DL to live 8 box) so maybe that was why.

I just repaired it, maybe the day before I tried to install it =/ But I'll try again and let you know how it goes

Tried repairing again, and installing one of them over, still nothing This is getting frustrating :S

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem with a copy of Live 8 that I won during the recent Live Beats series tour in Italy.
The serial number wasn't inside the box, it was sent to me by email... i thought the problem authorizing EIC2 packages was due to that.
Anyway I contacted the Ableton customer care yesterday... I'm still waiting for an answer, but I'm going to let you know in case of any news.

I contacted the customer service, and it turns out the package I bought didn't include it. But as they could understand how I could have thought so at the time of purchase, they gave it to me anyway
