Are the Focal XS 2.1 desktop speakers any good for home studio use? Looking for speakers to use with an APC40 and Ableton Live. I like the small profile of the speakers but want to make sure they are good for my use. Unfortunately no store near me has them on display to test so I was looking for any feedback from people who have them or may have heard them. Thanks.

i think you're quoting the consumer end of Focal not the pro audio end right? I had the CMS65 in the studio for a month, i really liked them but was nervous about having to relearn an entirely new set of monitors. What is your budget?

Yes the consumer end......I would like to spend around $600 or less. I'm not a professional producer or anything, but music is my hobby and I like good sound for a home setup.

I have those beauties for 3 month in my home studio and I'm more than satisfied.... they are great for home and semi pro work, and to be quite honest, copuple of times I was lazy to go to my main studio so I did some TV and radio mixes on them and everything went smooth ... they are not replacement for "real" studio monitors but they are very very capable.

Excellent speakers by all menas.

Don't hesitate - buy them !!!

Thanks. How can I connect them to a external sound card like the Audio 2 DJ or possibly a Apogee DUET?

My "connection" is Duet's line outs via canon/TRS-to-3,5 mm jack into XSs line in

Yes.... work with my Iphone 3Gs and Iphone 4 as well..... btw,you got with speakers a dozen connectors for several and /or various type of Ipods, Iphones, etc...
