Hi,

Its been a few years since I used Ableton and have just upgrded to 8.2.1

I am trying to use my AAC collection @ 256Kb as my record box of tracks so I don't have to re rip or download any tunes

The tracks sound fine when played through iTunes but sound really jumpy / juddery when just played normally through Ableton ... no effects etc

I've got a ton of playing around and reading to do to figure Ableton all out agian but don't remember this problem before with v 4 or 5 (although I was using digitized versions of vinyl converted to WAV).

I know WAV is a better format but can't figure out why the AAC sounds fine on iTunes etc but rubbish on Ableton. Do all 'MP3s' sound like this or is there something I need to set up properly that I haven't figured out ?

Help much appreciated .... I have weeks of playing around to get comfortable again and at least start to get my mixes going again . . could do without a headache such as this !

Thanks

Go to clip view and try out the different warp modes; they all have their uses. I think "Beats" mode is the default mode, and it can indeed make cracks and pops when the clip isn't played back at its original tempo.
