Missing plugs in Ableton 8

Hi guys,
this might be a noobish question, so sorry in advance.
I've bought and updated from Ableton 7.x student version to ableton live 8.x

In 7 I had the drumrack + some external VSTs that I'd installed for live performances. I had my own VSTi-s in a folder seperate folder.

Anyhow, I installed a new OS (from Vista, to Windows 7) re-installed Ableton 7, and later installed the 8. I authorized it and on the ableton page it says that I've authorization for Ableton 8, EIC and ableton 7. When I look at the setup there is a lot of instruments there that only has an "uninstall" option. However, my instrument folder is empty and I've searched the harddrive for ages and can't find any plugs. I don't think I should have all the plugs since it's just an upgrade and not to Suite, but I probably still should have drum rack, shouldn't I? All the FX are there and work, just not any of the plugs. I have the boxed version of Ableton. Does it not install the plugs when I install the program? I tried "repair" folder or whatever it's called, and it didn't help.

Have they removed the drum rack? Is it a separate download or something? The manual just prompts me to find my VST folder and point to that, but I've not got one, and it doesn't seem like there are any plugs what so ever installed.

Am I just being daft here?

well, if you say you had your VST in a separate folder,
point ableton live to that, and it will "see" the plugins installed there.

for the drumrack, simpler, impulse:
if you see the fx, double-click on the slot in the browser that displays your fx.
the first tree should be instruments, open it and see if they are there,
they "must", really !
otherwise, the installation failed.
if you can`t see them there, try to re-install live.
download the latest version from the website and see what`s up.

hope that helps

Hum,
I had to re-install it apparently... Something must have gone wrong during install.
Thanks mate! I'll buy you a beer if we ever meet!
