Will you jump ship? Which DAW would you go to?

This is not meant as an Ableton-bashing topic... just a bit of motivation for them to get it right.

Staying (a)Live. And don't see the point posting these polls on ableton forum anyway.

Live in arrangement view for producing and creative stuff

Live in session view for live acts/ more creative stuff and mix/ master stuff

it´s the best not to look at the arrangement when I mix! looking to the automation stucks, because you know what is coming...

--> my super ego says: you should listen to it not looking at!

Staying in Live for all writing and sound design,

maybe export the multi-tracks to Reaper for the final mizdown if the plugin latency compensation bugs aren't fixed.

Stick with 8. That's as much incentive for them to get it right as if I stop using it. I think we might see a real big overhaul next version though. Get the impression they can't squeeze much more out of current architecture. Could mean more of a wait if i'm right though.

why would i buy one of the other programs if live 9 doesn't "deliver"
you don't think i have checked out the other programs before settling on live?
every program you listed besides live is a pain in the ass for a musician.

there are some things i would like ableton to borrow from other apps (like cubase's automatic tempo mapping)
but i would not buy cubase just for one feature that im only going to use maybe once a month.

though i would like features like better tempo mapping i would rather have the newest version of live to be totally innovative and move towards the future. to me the future (actually present) is about multi touch and unique interfaces that you get with the ipad.

I'm not whining here.. just curious as to what DAWs you guys have thought to switch over to.
And with regards to them getting it right, I was referring to Live 9. There are quite a few features that many of the users want to see and some that have waited too long. They are paying customers. You go to subway and you get a sandwich exactly how you want it, right? And that's only $5. We spend hundreds on software and for it to be missing anything just seems unacceptable at times.

So, if you are truly disappointed with the features Ableton leaves out or even the ones they do add in Live 9, would you stop buying their software/upgrades and look to some other developer for your main DAW?

I see threads like Presonus Studio Artist no-brainer for $30 and people praising the software and that leads me to believe that some of you have tried and do like other DAWs. Do you like them enough to switch? Do they have features that you wish Live had? A few guys use Logic or Pro Tools for final mixing. I'm sure there are guys that conceive in programs like Fruity Loops or Reason and then bounce the stems to Live or Cubase.

Now, personally speaking, I'm perfectly happy with Live but I have considered trying other DAWs. I came from using Reason exclusively to using Live almost exclusively. I just wonder if I would benefit from another programs workflow even more.

You pay for a license to use the software. You do not own it. You cannot eat it

No software is perfect and free from "missing anything"

I'm more looking forward to the features the forum hasn't thought of.
