I have decided to buy a new computer to run ableton purely for DJing. Can anyone tell me what specification computer i need to run ableton effectively.
Also i currently have two Soundblaster Audigy soundcards, is it possible to connect one of the soundcards to channel 1 on my mixer, and connect the other soundcard to channel 2 on my mixer, and then send audio clip 1 in Ableton to channel 1 on my mixer, and audio clip 2 to channel 2 on my mixer

Cheers

I wouldn't worry so much about what 'specs' you need for dj'ing in live. If you've got over a 1ghz processor and maybe 512MB of Memory on XP or OS X, I'm sure you'd be fine. Regardless of what you've got, I'm sure you'll figure out what you can do with whatever limitations you have and still come out with a great set.

Check out ASIO4ALL v2.0 for using multiple sound cards... however since an Audigy has surround output, you should be able to DJ fine with just one soundcard. have one output designated as your master output, and another set to be your cue output...

Hope that helps
