Ableton Forum

Hi guys,

I bought Komplete 7 a couple of months ago and only started using Kontakt now. I am impressed with how hard it is for things to work, compared to the other VSTs like Massive. But obviously I know this is my fault!

I have this really cool track that I would like to have some automation going. I have Kontakt loaded on Omni with a send effect, a Reverb, which I would like to automate (the Damping property). I can assign it with MIDI on my Axiom 61 (although it keeps resetting to the default value when I let go the knob) but I can't have it on my automation lane. I press the "Configure" button to add the parameter to Ableton's panel but nothing ever happens. This applies to any property on Kontakt, Tune, Volume etc nothing works.

Thoughts? I assume this is pretty simple, but it's driving me nuts!

Well, guess I sorted it out after a couple of hours. Apparently "Configure" works as long as I go to the "Auto" tab in Kontakt, choose a host parameter and drag it to what I want to affect. Phew!

Damn, this would be great but I can't automate the Kontakt insert effects. WTF N.I.!!!?

This is helping me too, but I'm till confused, sorry guys!

I found the Auto tab in Kontakt and got it reading a Release parameter. Found the Configure button in Ableton but when I click the parameter in Kontakt as suggested under the configure button nothing happens.

Someone tell me what I'm missing apart from my sanity...
