MAC BUG: cmd-drag selection in Arrange still snaps to grid

still in 8.2.2b5

holding CMD while click-dragging over a clip selection in Arrange view should act as a temporary disable of the snap-to-grid behaviour, just as it works in clip edit view when selecting audio/midi notes, but it's broken. what actually happens is that the start of the click-drag selection still snaps, but the end doesn't.

reported this one 9 months ago - confirmed as a bug by email support (case 405457) - but still no news on a fix

Hi garyboozy,

Strange, I also using OSX (10.6.6) but it seems that here this is working like expected. Could you explain more precisely the problem?

ok, the red box is the audio section i want to select without turning off the grid (cmd+4).
as you can see, the section doesnt lie on the grid, so holding CMD while click-dragging over the selection should bypass the snap and let me select it no problem, but no; the start of the selection still snaps to the grid, something it should not do.

try the same thing in clip edit view and it works perfectly. it's just arrange view that's borked.

Ah, I got it. 8)

You are right. :)

Sorry, I thought you have meant the dragging of a selection, not creating a selection

cheers, palmer
