Hello, Ive been trying to get live to work properly with the EMI 2/6 in OSX for sometime now. I have a Powerbook g4 800 with OSX 10.2, 512ram, with EMI 2/6 usb audio input device. Live's audio input (via the 2/6) works fine in 44 kHZ sample rate, but when change to 48/96 crackles and dropouts appear, no matter what I do within Live or in the OSXaudio/midi utility. I should mention that this only occurs when recording/monitoring audio in live. Is there anything I can do to test if the problem is live or the 2/6? Right now I am using Live in OS9, where all the sampling rates work fine, would like to switch over. Any ideas?? :?:

Have you tried recording audio with another application?

There seems to be quality problems with the audio engine in Live under OS X.

In my limited experience, other OS X audio applications do not seem to be afflicted with these issues. Seems to be a Live-specific thing.

I have only Live as audio (importing) application, is there a shareware one I could download to test? I really want to figure out if it is Live or the 2/6 that is at fault so I can contact their support directly on the matter. Thx!

Check out Spark ME from TC Works (do a Google search). It is a free OS X recorder.
