Can no longer drag and drop MIDI clips from Folder (Win7 Pro

HI all,
Latest gold release of v8 on a PC with Win7Pro - had a HD failure and was on XPPro - so upgraded to new HDD and to Win7Pro... all nice and stable.
But - previous I was able to go to a Folder (eg: My Couputer > etc) and drag a MIDI file out and onto the Live window. This no longer works.
So - Live would be there/open - I Alt-tab to my already open Folder - scroll to find the MIDI file I wanted and then drag straight to the open Live window track and that's it.
Now - not?
Is this a Prefs thing that I have overlooked or is it a problem?
Thanks for any advice as to what I need to click!
