quieter and quieter

Hi any help with this would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. I started using Live 4 recently and whilst playing back the sound gets quieter and quieter and then LOUD, then quieter... You get the idea. I've seen posts on various sound drop outs but this seems a bit different. I'm running a reasonable PC and use reason, soundforge - messing about with big samples and in the past cubase - no probs. Soundblaster card. It happens whether I'm queueing one sample on its own, running midi through reason or playing a tune all the way through. Anyone else having this? its started to make me mad...

perhaps it is not getting quieter but further away, I think your chair is rolling backwards - solution : wooden blocks behind chair castors.

do you have a limiter on the output? If so, try turning it off to see whether it still happens.

you also might have the master volume envelop fluctuating...

make sure you didn't change the volumes when you accidentally left the OVR on...
