I just bought a maschine. But when i set it up with live, i realise that live dont record any maschine event, as a change in the step sequenser or a that a new pattern was fired. So, u cant automate this stuff. Its anyway to do this ? If not, how u use the maschine to produce ?

Try using Maschine in standalone mode. You can export/drag&drop from Maschine into Live or any other DAW.

I use program changes.. just create a dummy clip with a program change of f. ex. 1 (to play scene 1, 2 to play scene 2 etc.) and set up maschine vst to accept program changes as MIDI control.. voila!
ps. yeah, I use maschine as a vst inside live. export / drag and drop still works as expected

open a midi track and load maschine as a vst label it MASCHINE
open another midi track (Group 1) and set the midi from MASCHINE/Maschine
then set Midi to MASCHINE/1-Maschine
now you can use midi clips in Live to trigger Maschine
now you can apply Live grooves to Maschine sounds
now you can record midi clips from Live into Maschine
If you Open a Midi Effect rack and nest another inside the first
then make a chain and name it Pad 1
open key selector and move to C3
copy that chain 15 times and move the selector up chromatically for each chain
ie Pad 2 is C#3 Pad 16 is D#4
Name your Midi effect rack and save it as preset or whatever
drop it into Grp 1 midi track
oh yeah right click on the nested pad rack and choose Show names in editor
you should see Pad 1-16 in your Live Midi Clip in piano roll
In Maschine Click the drop done menu from the Kit Name Tab in Pattern section
choose sound midi batch setup
choose Sounds to Midi Notes
Midi channel =1
Root note =C3
If you want to continue to Control Maschine's groups from Live midi tracks just duplicate your Midi Grp Trak
in Live and change to 2-Maschine and then change Midi Batch setup to 2 and so on
I recommend routing your kicks, snares etc back into live on Audio tracks
you can get some great layering

Just32, no you cannot record pattern changes. For some unknown reason, NI decided not to allow that.

You can sequence/trigger Maschine's scenes from within Live either with Program Changes as mentioned above, or via midi notes. You can choose between the two in Maschine's Scene MIDI settings.

Wow.... thats kind of tricky. Shouldnt Live provide a better way to do this ?

You have to realize there are many different ways to use Maschine and Live, even when just talking about using both at the same time. For me, Maschine has replaced Live entirely as a production tool because it's more hands-on and does certain key things that Live doesn't offer like realtime automation into clips. In other words, you don't HAVE to use Maschine in Live. There's more than one way of using it.
Many people drag and drop audio/MIDI from Maschine into Live whether as a plugin or standalone. Some people trigger Maschine's scenes from Live as MIDI notes or program changes. Some people export their arrangement a separate tracks for each sound or group and drag those into Live or other DAWs to mix down and finalize. It can be beneficial to be aware of all these options as some of them might be better suited to what you're trying to accomplish rather than trying to make it behave like some other software you might have in mind.

O RLY?
I'm really very interested in how you do this. Please share. To be fair, I haven't yet fully explored the sequencer/arrangement functionality of Maschine - it does perhaps seems a little over-simplistic/limiting?

I've been trying to do this from a standalone - I can get the midi data for each drum sound to transfer over to Ableton, (it automatically creates a track for each sound but once it is is in Ableton I then have to arm each track with a Simpler and then re-load all the samples to be triggered.
Is there a correct way to import the midi data AND retain the links to the drum sounds being triggered? (ideally all within the same clip - rather than creating a new track for each drum sound on the import into Ableton)
Many thanks in advance!

Check out this really informative vid from the man Saintjoe..

here's another good one showing how to trigger vsti's in ableton with maschine...

and here's the thread on the Ni forums about the above:

But doing this i have to program the pattern on live to trigger sounds on maschine... whats the point of that? I just could use a Live“s Drum Rack. What i need is to trigger patters in maschine from live, because is much much more easy to program a pattern in maschine that in live. Thats the usefull thing about maschine...

... but you can't. See our giant thread on the NI forums requesting the ability to record pattern changes!
