Problems loading samples after a reinstall

hi, i just reinstalled live 7 and now when i load my previous live sets "some of the samples used by this set could not be opened"? ive opened a bunch of live sets and they all have missing samples? i can play these tracks on windows media player just fine? another message reads sample "could not be decoded using directshow". in this case the files are mp3. hmm... any ideas. im going to install quicktime in the meantime.. update. installing quicktime worked...
