I can't watch it at work but if its what I think it is then I imagine they can only increase the bad taste by lining up some victims corpses to jump over.

No mate, it's not in bad taste.

If you were a skater, what else would you do? Stop skating because your town got fucked up by a major earthquake?

Pretty amazing footage of Christchurch and what the people of will be dealing with for a long time.

Edit-typo

Perhaps we can go surfing at Fukushima next week?

Make the most of it, as it were?

If you timed it just right after one of the after shocks, probably some pretty good waves with the tsunamis.

Did anyone actually watch the video before acting all sensitive?

Naive comparison. Would you rather the skateboarders that live there stop doing what they love after the area has already been devastated? Are you mad that they might be defacing the already torn up streets? Are they disrespecting anyone? If you answered yes to any of these, then ignorance is bliss.

The earthquake is over. The damage is done. Its time to rebuild now, no need to sit around and mope cause that wont get you anywhere. It seems the natives of the area have moved on faster than you have, which is...well sad. If you were effected by the incidents then I sincerely feel for you, as probably all of us have been devastated by tragedy at one point or another. But skateboarding is not going to kill anybody.

Peace

Awesome vid. It's hard to sit at work now...

I remember when I lived in England during the 90s, and the funeral for Princess Diana was going on. My buddies and I went out on town and skated all over. It was the best skating day of my life, because there was NO ONE out driving or walking around, not even taxis or busses. Everyone was watching the funeral on TV all day. It was like skating in a post apocalyptic/zombie movie or something, but everything was intact. It was very strange feeling, but no limits to where we could skate. It was amazing.

It was a different scenario than this vid, but kind of the same "making the best of a situation" deal. It's not insensitive. When everyone's looking down, it's good to have someone looking up and enjoying life.
