track volume changes on its own...

for some reason 2 of my tracks in my current project will just change volume..

i keep resetting my track to -6 or 0 or whatever, and a few minutes of mucking around, one keeps going down to -17 or -16 and the other one jumps to -7 or-6..

no automation, no clip automation, what gives? its happened like 5 or 6 times over the last few hours and i cant seem to find the problem. :x

are you sure there is no automation?

what about midi mappings or control surfaces?

sure there is no automation...nothing midimapped either...

i didnt see it happen till today...the track was playing and i saw the entire automation line just move down by itself..

so weird. and annoying.

Well, eh. Let's start some elimination, shall we?

Unplug both. Does it still happen?

Unplug one. Does it still happen?

Unplug the other. Does it still happen?

You see where I'm going with this, right?

Offhand, I'm guessing it's your keyboard controller. What kind is it?

Does your keyboard have a volume pedal attached to it? Perhaps you nudged the pedal and it sent a CC signal that Live read.

it happens all the time now. i did unplug everything one by one...its def not my keyboard..

it seems to be the APC. i can be touching nothing and the faders just go crazy.

i checked all my settings...everything is what it was before.

why would both my midi in and out indicators be flashing?

thanks for the replys btw.

i don't have an APC. But have you tried mapping the problematic faders to something else and see if still modulates the new parameter ?

Try blasting your faders with some canned air.

Yup, same thing happens to me. Its definitely the APC, second channel's fader. I noticed it moving slightly the day I got it, and after some fruitless searches on the subject I decided to cut my losses. Now that I'm trying to map controls on my MPK, the CC value almost instantly changes to 7, as the amplitude is drunkenly wandering and thus always imputing MIDI data (at least that's what I assume). Since this is way out of my league to fix, I thought I'd give this thread a bump.

PS - compressed air did not work, unfortunately.
