scroll through drum rack?
scroll through drum rack?
so i've been making my own drum racks to work with my axiom 25. i basically put in 8 sounds starting on C1 to G1, then C2 to G2, and on up. I was wondering if anyone knew a way to scroll up the device using a controller. you cant midi map that part of the device, and was just wondering if its even possible to move through the rack without touching the computer.

Just transpose your keyboard up/down an octave.

Re: scroll through drum rack?
Well i like using the pads on the axiom, thats why my drum racks only use the first 8 slots of each octave. The axiom automatically uses the first 8 slots in the device focus and its easier to move through with the arrow keys as opposed to command + arrow keys. Having to click on the drum rack focus with my mouse if i want to change kits becomes annoying if i'm working with another device in another track. I'm looking for a way to select the drum rack focus with a controller. I dont really even mind using the arrow keys, but i dont like using the mouse when doing live music. I wish the transpose button worked that way on the axiom but it doesnt affect the pads. I do appreciate the reply though.
Re: scroll through drum rack?
If you use Enigma (I think that's still the M-Audio config software) then you can bind the pads to play a different octave in each user preset, then use the bank/recall function to load between the different banks without involving the mouse, I have the Evolution predecessor to the axiom 25 (evo mk-425c) so it might be a little different. If the pads send out CC's that you have manually mapped through ableton itself then you should be able to put them out on channels 1,2,3,4 in each preset and bind them multiple times in ableton.
The only pads I use are on my padkontrol and those allow me to choose the octave of the note they send in the editor software so I'm not sure about it working for the axiom but worth a look.
