Whats your most underated plugin in Ableton?

Mine has to be the compressor, after a solid year of learning the ins and outs of Ableton I'd say I'm still only beggining to learn the real power, function and capabilty of a compressor.

I'd say amp; certainly a lot of heart and soul went into such a little device that pack more code beneath the surface than most people give it credit for.

The multiband comp, use it on pretty much everything... Me wants side-chain on it though :P

The Reverb gets too much hate, IMO. It's not great for everything but I find it surprisingly versatile.

+1. for a long time i never really got lives reverb and thought it sounded pretty average so i always used a tc electronic reverb. one day i decided to sit down with it and attempt to re-create some of my tc electronic presets. once i'd come to terms with the controls i was pleasantly surprised at the results.
actually it's now my go-to reverb and i prefer it over plugs such as waves renaissance verb etc

utility wont even allow you to set gain @ -inf

An empty rack for me, the ultimate automation tool! (really cant work without it right now)

I have it in every track, holding all my volume/pan/on-off automation.

Many times i also use different chains, each with a different automation!
Anytime i can go back and check which one is better, or move one of them to a different track.

the automation container

I'm with you on reverb I've always found lives reverb ideal for what I'm doing. I had a play with logics built in 'verbs but didn't like them at all. Suppose it's all taste but I find I can get what I want playing with lives verb.

Insta-phat (or EQ3, as it is more commonly known).

That's what I was going to say. Other than that maybe Compressor.

Edit: I find Reverb works well for snares & hi hats as a return inside of Drum Rack.

+1, redux is great. Bitcrushers in general are awesome, if you're trying to get seriously nasty sounds, or even add a little bit of grit to something which is pretty but too sweet.
