live.thisdevice - is loadbang now obsolete?

Should we no longer use loadbang for M4L patches? I have a few old patches still using loadbang, should I blanket replace them with the live.thisdevice?
Not necessarily.
If you want something to happen before live.thisdevice fires, for example, you'll still need loadbang.
