Hey guys,

Wonder if any of you have this problem. I need to edit my mix after all that recording and some of my tracks are not sync-ed,(musicians missed the metronome). So I need to push them back/forward by a couple of miliseconds. However, when I attempted to do that apparently, I can only highlight like the tracks in a width of the grid, even at the narrowest setting. Is there A way I can highlight a area smaller than a grid?

Use the keyboard shortcuts: Cmd-1 / Cmd-2 to adjust the grid size larger or smaller. If you zoom in, you'll get into even smaller increments.

@yoseph Thanks lots! How precise can it get? Down to the milisecond or less?

If I understand your problem correctly, you can also finely drag positions of clips in arrangement view (and loop braces etc.) by holding the Command key (Mac) when dragging. So you can zoom far into your view and fine tune clip position etc.

Well.. It's measured in bars/beats, not milliseconds. But if you zoom in far enough, the grid disappears and you can make microscopic adjustments.

I like to use an external WAV editor for that kind of thing. I recommend Amadeus Pro if using Mac, or Sound Forge on Windows. The Ableton "edit" button in clip view is really handy the way it shoots the file right into my editor.
