what's the color of your skin?

Hello all,
here's a silly question:
do you think the skin you use has an impact on your creative process???

Strange coz last weekend I was in a total lack of inspiration, and just started to change my usual bluish "business" skin for others Im not naturally inclined to like (for example, laser, which looks good but is to me quite oprressive)

In the end it helped to get me out of my uninspired mood. Maybe coz Im also a quite visual person. Im quite inspired by colors. Im the kind of guy who can waste some time changing the color of the clips of my songs, so they "look" nice... ;)

Anyone had the same experience? What skin do you use?

Ben

i use the default. i'd love one that was "oldschool terminal style -- amber on black" though.

is there a known way to make your own skin files? it looks like it might not be too hard with a Hex editor...

I use some Robert's skins, Mono 05, 09, 12, 15,17.... Some of them have a name on Live, some are a bit different... just like to change... but always between greys and black, blue and light blue... otherwise my eyes get tired after a while...

keep changing depending on music, time of the day/ night... to wake me up.
I love the Ableton design, ergonomic all the way, very fine, absolutely outstanding. I don“t know if I hated Cubase ( till SX came out, Live inspired ?) more for the bugs or the "puff Barock" ( that is great german expression) look.
Come on Robert can`t you say who is behind that Live look ? I am really curious. You people are Armani of music software. Anyway if it is a secret, still my respect and thanks.

there`s definitely a coincidence between the colour of the skin an my "creative colour". interesting to find out, which skins do influence different moods. i prefer battleship, and sometimes tobacco makes me happy. and my loops too.....sorry for my nglsh, no native spkr here.

did Monolake take those skins down?
i think he did and that sucks, i didnt back them up when i got a new laptop back in August.

he had one on there that i absolutely loved.

now i use Default and occasionally Default 2.1, but them monolake skins were HOT! if anyone has the set, PM me.

I run OSX with colours inverted (System Prefs => Universal Access => Seeing => Switch to White on Black). Turns Live's Oak skin into a piece of blue/pink visual terrorism. Nice.
