Simple recording audio in a clip question.

Hi,
Still kind of new at Ableton.
My question is that if I toggle a clip to record and record my audio, then it doesn't sound like I would have liked, do I have to undo the recording then record again, or is there a toggle setting that will let me just record new audio on the clip and erase what was ever there before at the same time?
