U-he Tyrell N6 a wee bit of a cpu rapist?

Just having a play now. Having no cash to buy any U-he products, thought I would have a play with Tyrell N6
My computers not amazing, dell xps from a couple of years ago, but very rarely have probs. Seems to be clipping a bit when I play certain patches and seems to coincide with cpu spikes.
Anyone else?

It has a stacking option on the top right corner that makes sounds thicker but also draws more CPU, turning it down might help.

Tyrell isn't free. You pay with CPU. He's probably not going to dish out his optimized code on a freebie that is really a prototype for a hardware unit.
tl;dr: you can't complain

I read somewhere that it's based on his ACE synth but obviously without the patch chords. That's pretty damn heavy on the CPU as well, so I don't think it's just Tyrell.

Its a synth that doesn't compromise on CPU.
It's practically pointless to use it unless you have a really powerful computer. There are hundreds of other good synths out there, free and payed for, that sound great and don't rape CPU.
It's cool that its free and all, but seriously.

I read someplace that I'm black. It's not true though
ACE is a cpu pig but you get way more bang for your cpu-buck VS tyrell.

Well, I reckon it's all a matter of opinion but I feel U-HE has the best VA VSTi on the market and, the quality comes at a price. One can always dump the track to audio.

Zebra 2 is a bottomless pit. I don't feel the need for ACE

It's free and Urs is a great guy who makes the most amazing soft synths ever and really cares about his customers. I can understand if you want to comment about the CPU usage, but there is no reason to be anything but respectful to that guy.

I never saw this coming strange theirs no mention of it on U-he website. I find it uses less CPU than a lot of Ace presets. It sounds great but not as good as U-he Ace but a million times better than the usual free stuff.

I could go further but I think that's disrespectful enough!

if you really want to make your cpu cry, you should try the
Bazille alpha
