How to make Multichannel XNodes x/y position midi mappable?

Hi, I'm new to M4L and I'm interested in modifying the existing Multichannel SendsXNodes device to make the position of the yellow dot midi mappable. I know that the position of the yellow dot can be controlled via the azimuth and distance controls, but those values don't translate nicely to linear x/y pad controllers or joysticks. So in essence while in "Knob Mode" you can move the yellow dot around with the mouse, but I want to alter the patch to allow that yellow dot to be midi mappable and be able to assign an x/y controller to it.
Thanks for any advice you might have!

Hi, I'm still looking for a solution to this. If some kind soul could help nudge me in the right direction on this I would be very grateful. I'm very very new to Max and M4L and trying to work through some of the tutorials and documentation. I did notice that the node object will accept x y
- as input so the modification I want seems promising. thank you.

My very first max programming/alteration was yesterday and that was adding two live dials. One for x and one for y. These can be midi mapped for an xy controller. I tried recreate my work, but it didn't work this time around. Luckily, I saved the altered patch and it works fine.
I can mail ypu the patch later tonight.

Hi there.
I've uploaded the patch to maxforlive.com. It is named "API Send Xnodes XY mod 1.0" so if you searh that, you should find it.
