MAX Authorizes OK then its GONE ?

I have Live 8 Suite and I've just gone for the 30% MAX deal.
When I re-authorize LIVE to get MAX it WORKS (12 add ons) & I can see it in the File-Tab of the settings .. BUT .. then after closing LIVE and reopening it it's gone ? (11 add ons) ?
It's like there is more than one location for the unlock & settings files ?
Other Preferences change too like the selected SKIN
So I guess obviously? re-authorizing an already authorized instance of LIVE does not constitute an additional install of LIVE ?
