yo ,
is it possible to use Panther's user switching to have 2 livesets open at once??

there is a way to do this although not with panther's user switching though.

You can open as much instances of Live as you want.
Just copy the Live application in the finder and you have two applications which can be open at the same time. I do this all the time, because it makes it easy to compare a version of a piece with an older one. Note that you cannot (yet) copy data from one version into the other. Note also that all MIDI which comes in is received by both applications. If one of the apps is not running it does not consume CPU, but of course some RAM.

you cannot copy and paste from two seperate instqances of live programs running side by side. Pity !
But you can copy and paste from one song then open up another new song ( running on one copy of live only) and once this has opened you can then paste the parts of the old song into the new song from the arrangment or session view. obviously though it doesnt copy plugins fx etc etc.
Its good for using on audio loops.
And so on and so on copying and pasting from your individual songs into your master song for playing live.
Alternatively you can import the audio parts individually but using the above method you can keep session and arrangment structures intact while importing.
Adding to Roberts post and including the ability to slave one instance of live via the IAC buss OSX to another running Live instance. You could simply have a session that had no audio parts running thus putting limited or no strain on your cpu until you triger a session that includes audio. in essence meaning you have the two songs running and prepared but without any cpu drain until you really want or need to.

This (yet) sounds very promissing...
i miss such an ability from day one and it would enhance my personal workflow 500%... i am one of this chaotic structures that start a track 2 times the day but finish one only 5-10 times the year...
It would be nice if such a pasting would paste/insert the complete track (or prortion of it by inserting a new track), with its mixersettings and envelopes... You can combine that to one track later in the destination instance if needed.. Just the audio wouldnt do the job.. Its often the automation and fx settings that do the music.
