Select clip for playback without launching, possible?

Kinda new user, and was wondering if the following is possible thru some key combination I haven't found yet:

Selecting/marking 1+ clips for playback (in possibly different scenes) without starting playback

What I'd wanna accomplish is marking for example 3 clips on different scenes (and different tracks ofc) for playback and then have them all start at the press of transport play button. Can't seem to find a way to do this.

Preferably I'd like to do this from Launchpad and/or APC40 control surfaces.

And for clarification: I don't mean just selecting the clips for display of content under session view, I mean marking green for playback without launching the whole package.

Any power user suggestions for key-combinations or workarounds?

Thx :)

Do you mean like, highlighting a clip, holding Ctrl, and then highlighting other clips. Then hitting Enter?

I can't think of ways to prep various tracks for launch otherwise.. Once they are playing though, Ctrl+Shift+i turns them into a new scene.

As for control surfaces.. I don't think you can 'mark' or tag them or whatever. I think I've thought it'd be a nice feature too. Via a shift button or something :) (also a good way to 'select' a clip in general!)

You could do this with midi mapping. You will need to create new midi track and enable remote under preferences. I recommend watching this video. It should get the ball rolling.
