help with maschine please!!!!!!

Alright. Im a newb. Ive only been using Ableton for a few months. Im on Windows 7 64bit with Ableton 8.2.2 and Maschine 1.6.2 (64 bit mode) but apparently have the other mode also (id assume 32 bit?) Ive never posted on here because I always just search and solve whatever issue or solve whatever question I have. And I know I might be tore apart for this. Ive searched thru the forums over and over and over and googled the heck outta this. I seem to have issues with VSTs all the time. Ive got Synth1 and a few TAL fx to work. Otherwise, nothing.

I just installed Maschine on my new computer finally two days ago. Ive got my custom VST folder as C:\VST Plugins. In that folder ive copied the files Maschine.dll and MaschineFX.dll. And Ive gone into Ableton and rescanned and nothing. Ive moved the VST Plugins folder around, without effect. I really would like to use Maschine as a plugin in Abelton live. Ive heard about having to use the 32bit .dll files, in which case im not sure if those are the ones I have or not, or how to find them. Really confused and frustrated beyond belief.

I know I can just Export/Drag and Drop. But I would like some help on this issue. Also, if you have any tips on why most of the time, the plugins i download dont work, that would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time and thanks for any help you can give. Take care!

Yeah, Ive heard that once or twice now. :| I wish I could afford that right now, but unfortunately thats not an option. Ive seen videos of people using Maschine as plugin on a PC, so thats why Im confused and inquiring as to what Im doing wrong. Again, any help would be much appreciated.

no man you don't need a mac for that....

maybe you really have 64-bit dlls. The 32 bit ones are somewhere on C:\Programs(x86)\Native Instruments which is the location for the 32bit programs on a W64 system..

Without the (x86) is the 64-bit programs.

Alright. Well, I definitely have the 64bit dlls. But I dont have a Native Instruments folder in the Programs(x86) folder. So.....where do I go from here? Thanks for your help!

I think that maschine asks you where to put the dlls when installing it. Maybe Just de-install and install again and remeber where you've directed the dlls. I can't tell you where Maschine puts the dlls as default as I have mine in the right place and so am not able to see where they would go.

Or do a search in windows and look after maschine.dll and then put them into your VST-folder and see which one works.

Good luck

You probably need to use a USB 2 port only for Maschine. Make sure that the USB port is version 2.

I'll second your opinion, sir EpikureeR.

Ugh.... nothings working. :x

Oh well, after three days of trial and FAIL, Ive given up. I dont really mind just writing the beats and then exporting them quickly. Its just that I have the crappy free ASIO4ALL and if I open up Maschine while Ableton is open, wrtie the beat and export it to my samples folder, I have to go to Lives preferences, then hardware setup within the Audio settings, then turn on the speaker outpout for ASIO4ALL. Which is a hassle. OR, I have to close Ableton, open Maschine, write, export, close Maschine, and then wait for the fifteen seconds or so for Ableton to open. Which is indeed a hassle also. But I was hoping that using Maschine as a plugin rather than Stand-Alone might solve that problem.

But I digress.

Thanks for trying to help guys. Appreciate it.

PS: No intentions of getting a Mac. Just being polite.

This is not true what so ever. I use a Windows 7 64bit Maschine and my setup works just fine. Actually, even better than I expected. I can run Maschine, Ableton Live and Serato and everything is perfectly stable. And to back that up, I just setup a friends studio with a Windows 7 OS and Maschine and Ableton Live and his is running great too.

It basically comes down to this. "You get what you pay for!" If you buy a cheap PC your going to have issues, 100%. They are not built for the processor demand we need. So spending some money and getting a high end PC will be equivalent to a MAC, its just personal preference. My PC can do what any MAC can do...

I have been using a PC for years and have friends with a MAC and I have never not once not been able to keep up. So please, take your silly MAC comments somewhere else because that is not helping anyone.

If you still need help with this send me a PM and I can help you out. I have mine working and its on Windows 7 64bit. Good luck!

If only there was a phrase that could get women to drop their pants as quickly and predictably as “buy a Mac” causes PC users to angrily defend their Windows machines.

"Buy a Mac" is the most pointless advice and doesn't give any help to the op

PCs are as good as MACs, at least.
So please stop suggesting such nonsense
